Dr. Castro is an adjunct professor for CSULB and SDSU College of Education, teaching master level courses for the teacher preparation programs. Dr. Castro has also taught for the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Teacher Intern Program. Dr. Castro is a National Board Certified teacher in English as a Second Language (ESL). Dr. Castro earned a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, Long Beach. She earned a B.A. in Sociology and an M.Ed. in Teacher Education from UCLA. She obtained an M.A. in School Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Dr. Castro has published her work on the State Seal of Biliteracy and student achievement. She is a presenter and speaker for Parents, Educators, Administrators, Faculty on topics of: parent engagement, biliteracy and multilingual education, and building teacher capacity at local, national, and international conferences including: CABE, AERA, UCEA, CLSBA, school districts, and the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica.
