Nancy’s journey began as a 10-year-old refugee in the United States, overcoming language barriers to earn degrees from UCLA and Stanford University. A published author and insightful commentator on educational matters, she earned the title of 2020-2021 Elementary Principal of the Year and received two nominations for the Exemplary Woman in Education award from the Association of California School Administrators. As a proud mother of three, she attributes her success to community support, driving her dedication to creating opportunities for others.
In her current role as the Director of Equity and Inclusion in the San Mateo-Foster City School District, Nancy values her role as a public servant. With profound humility, she embraces growth, learning, relationships, and community service. Nancy treasures the opportunities provided by the Scholar System and emphasizes the significance of her education in the Anaheim Union High School District, which instilled in her a deep appreciation for championing inclusivity and advocating for those from marginalized backgrounds.
